Fiction or non-fiction – which do you prefer?

by: Garry Pierrepont (1 August 2017)

I may be a sad nerd, but I keep a record of all the books I read and have done for more than 30 years. I even rate them out of 20.

I like reading both fiction and non-fiction. I've just worked out that I have read 21% non-fiction and 79% fiction.

But, when sorted into 'rating' order, I found that 52% of the top 40 books were non-fiction, which strongly suggests that I prefer non-fiction to fiction.

My favourite non-fiction book is Injustice by Clive Stafford-Smith, an exposé of the American Justice System, which will get your blood boiling!

What's your favourite non-fiction book?
