A quick search on your favourite search engine will quickly reveal several proofreading courses. Here are five to choose from: four are on-site, one is a home learning course.

Proofreading: Introduction by London College of Media and Journalism.
A one day practical course with a public course price of £325 + VAT, or you can get private tuition for £495 + VAT. Courses are held at least once and sometimes twice a month in London.

Freelance Proofreading Diploma by Stephen Lloyd Training.
This is a three-day practical course, divided into the topics: professional proofreading techniques, proficiency in English grammar, and finding work as a freelance. The price is £495 including VAT. Courses are held around once a month in London (two out of three) or Manchester (one of every three).

Proofreading Course by Reed Learning.
A one-day course providing proven techniques to increase accuracy and measurably improve proofreading skills. The price is £499 + VAT. Courses are held in London every two to three months.

Proofreading for accreditation by Society for Proofreaders and Editors.
This is an advanced course to get you ready for SfEP's accreditation test. The price is £145.02 (inc. VAT) for members and £240 for non-members (inc. VAT) of SfEP. Courses are held from time to time in London.

Basic Proofreading by Distance Learning.
This is a home-study course and is recommended by the SfEP. It takes you through proofreading symbols, and how and when to use them. It is broken down into five units, each with its own self-check exercise and there is a marked assignment. Study time is estimated to be 35 hours. The price is £395. Courses are available at any time.
