Mills & Boon creates its own ebook app

by: Garry Pierrepont (29 April 2014)

Mills & Boon books seem to go on forever. No, I donít mean the books are boring (Iíve never read one), but the supply of books by the romantic novel publisher, part of Canadian Harlequin Enterprises, shows no sign of drying up.

Thereís obviously an ongoing market for the romantic novel.

Despite criticisms for being low-brow and formulaic thereís quite evidently a demand for the books, and in spite of the genre being almost cast in stone, the publisher is determined to not get left behind in the modern world.

For now Mills & Boon has an Ďappí. Despite the dominance of the ebook app market by Apple, Amazon and Kobo, the publisher is undeterred in producing its own app to take on such mighty competition. They say the app will help ease the process of getting book from publisher to reader.

Letís hope thereís a happy ending.

Ref: 69 I love Mills and Boon books. They were an escape from reality and although most of them were formulaic, still a damn good read!
